Sharing Interviews

Give Your Team What They Need

After an interview, your producer needs the timeline. Your editor needs the audio with chapter markers. Your co-host wants to review what was captured. InterviewCue's sharing feature gives them all of this through a single link -- no account required.

Click Share on your post-production page, copy the link, and send it. Recipients get a complete read-only view of your interview timeline with access to every export format, your uploaded audio, and your transcripts. They can download exactly what they need without you having to export and send individual files.

Creating a Share Link

On the post-production page, click the Share button in the header. A dialog appears with a Create Share button -- click it and InterviewCue generates a unique, cryptographically secure link.

Copy the link and send it to anyone who needs access. The share button changes from Share (green) to Shared (black outline with a checkmark) so you can always tell at a glance whether an interview has an active share link.

Each interview can have one active share link at a time. If you revoke a link and create a new one, the old URL stops working permanently -- only the new link is valid.

What Recipients See

Anyone with your share link gets a full read-only view of the interview -- including audio and transcript downloads for both original and final versions. No login, no account, no signup prompt -- just the content.

Timeline

The complete timeline appears in chronological order -- every question, captured event, timestamp, and note. If you have both raw and finalized timelines, recipients can toggle between them just like you can on the post-production page.

Export Formats

Recipients can download the timeline in all eight export formats:

Format Best For
Markdown (Timeline) Full timeline with timestamps, events, and links
Markdown (Show Notes) Listener-facing format with questions only
JSON Structured data for custom tools and automation
CSV Adobe Audition marker import
PDF Printable timeline with color-coded event dots
DaVinci Resolve EDL Edit Decision List with SMPTE timecodes
Logic Pro MIDI Marker events for Logic Pro
CUE Sheet Chapter markers for MP3 embedding

Exports respect whichever timeline view the recipient is on -- raw or finalized. For details on each format, see Export Formats.

Audio Downloads

If you've uploaded audio through Manage Assets, recipients can download it directly. When both original and final recordings are available, the files are named with -original and -final suffixes so there's no confusion about which is which.

Transcript Downloads

Uploaded or generated transcripts are available for download in WebVTT format -- for both the original and final recordings, if both exist.

Reference Links

All your reference links appear organized by question, just as they do on your post-production page. Recipients can copy all links as markdown or open them in browser tabs using any of the three Link Opener strategies (flat, with topic separators, or with all topics).

Managing Your Shares

The Share Dialog

After creating a share, the dialog shows:

  • The share URL with a Copy button
  • When the share was created
  • How many times it's been viewed
  • A Revoke Share button

The Shares Page

Visit Account > Shares to see all your active share links in one place. Each entry shows the interview name, guest, share URL, creation date, and view count. You can copy the link or revoke access directly from this page.

Revoking Access

Click Revoke Share in the share dialog or from the Account > Shares page. The link stops working immediately -- anyone who visits it afterward sees a message that the share is no longer available.

Revoking is permanent for that specific link. If you want to share the interview again, clicking Share creates a new link with a new URL. The old one never works again.

What Recipients Can't Do

Share links are strictly read-only. Recipients cannot:

  • Edit timestamps, events, or questions
  • Delete anything from your timeline
  • Upload or remove audio or transcripts
  • Share the link further with their own share button
  • Access any of your other interviews

Your data stays under your control. Sharing gives access to exactly one interview, and only until you revoke it.
